The horrors of the world manifest and impinge on the edges of our day to day existence. With the flick of a switch we change the channel, switch the station, block out the guilt of being a “have” in a world full of “have nots”. Yet the weight of their need is too great. They have escaped the bonds shackling them to the edges of our subconscious. They are here. Now, only through sheer determination can we get through the day without letting their need overwhelm us. Our skins grow thick. We develop a blindness. Good thing too. There’s a big sale today at Ziefeld’s.
